Berlitz has self teaching series, it started with phonograph records, the last time I looked at it, it was on tape cassettes, now it may be on Internet.
I was able to get cassettes from library.
You may be able to make copy, for personal use only, or buy a personal copy. On e-bay, Amazon.com.
In the mean time there is a language translater on line. It is easy to use. I believe I found it by putting Translate German to English in one of the search engine.
Got few hits, one just work fine. Try it if you need it now.
Immersion is the best way to learn, If you don’t want to move to Germany, and have no German friends you can room with, audio courses are the next best thing.
There’s a really good site from Radio Deutsche Welle
It’s a site with High Quality MP3 recordings and PDF documents of written work to learn the written language. There are several levels from Beginner to Professional. And best of all, it’s free.
